About Us
Lawoti Farms is a half-acre micro-farm located at Five HayStacks Farm in Campbellville, Ontario. We produce farm-to-table products such as hot sauces and achars, and fresh produce, following sustainable practices like minimal tillage, cover cropping, and crop rotation. With over 50 varieties of vegetables, we supply farmers' markets, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs, restaurants, wholesale clients, and our online store.
The Position
This role is for individuals who love working the land, enjoy the outdoors, and are ready for the physical demands of farming. As a member of our team, you will engage in all aspects of our mixed vegetable farm production, from fieldwork to post-harvest tasks. We value a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to contribute both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Harvesting, washing, and packing produce for markets and CSA.
- Fieldwork, including bed preparation, soil amendment, weeding, irrigation, pruning, transplanting, compost pile maintenance, trellising, and general farm handiwork.
- Performing repetitive tasks that require lifting, bending, and squatting for extended periods.
- Occasionally lifting 50 lbs.
- Working in various weather conditions: rain, sun, heat, and wind.
- Adapting to changing tasks throughout the season.
Job Requirements:
- Previous farming experience is an asset but not required.
- Strong willingness to learn and contribute.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding tasks.
- Reliable transportation, as the farm is not accessible by public transport.
Schedule:
- 2 to 3 days per week, from May to October 2025.
Compensation:
- $20/hour
- Weekly CSA box with fresh farm produce.
